Borini in the Directors' Box last night
|
Can't say for sure that it was him, but someone who looked identical to him was having photos taken with fans in the Directors' area at HT last night.
Really hope I'm wrong and he doesn't end up signing for us...

Liverpool fans I know thought Downing was shit and he was our most enjoyable player last season.
And there might be better elsewhere for he same price, he's still not dog shit though.

our best system was with sakho and Valencia up front last year with downing behind, will be so much better with payet instead. All changed when carrol came back.

Yep Remy for me also. I reckon Chelsea will sign Austin, given that he's 'home grown' and the big deal clubs like them and Man City are making out of that. At which point they'd have 4 forwards all vying for one spot.
They'll probably let Remy leave at that point.

Balotelli played for Liverpool both Milans and city and has a load more international caps than borini. And he's shit as well.
I just don't fancy him. He done fuck all at Chelsea, Liverpool fans that I know think he's shit.
There are better options out there for the guts of 10 million.

hopefully Valencia wont be asked to track back all the time and given a bit of freedom to be an attacking player
he was too restricted under fat sam

Vexed - be interesting to see if Bilic plays with two up front. Both Valencia and Borini can play wider. I actually think Valencia is a very decent player. Think he will show more this season, if given the chance

I'd rather Remy still but if Borini can stay on his feet and can actually hit a ball and control it properly for us then he's already light-years better than fucking CARTHORSE Cole...

Is being better than Carlton really all we want? Might as well just give Elliot Lee a run in the first team if this is the only criteria. Alternatively a traffic cone could also be promoted to the first team squad to take his place.
About Borini specifically, considering he is now in the last year of his contract, hardly played last season and with it being fairly obvious Liverpool want rid, I think we're paying well over the odds if the figures quoted are correct. About half what they're asking would be more appropriate. Hope we at least try to get the price down with this one as we seem to be doing with Barca over Song.

Not convinced by Borini...a bit flakey after showing youthful promise
...but on the left side of a 4-3-3 he might be useful...it's now or never for him - no more excuses

Borini's tweet about "on my way back" is because he's just finished he's holiday.

I'd probably start him with Sakho. Valencia hasn't convinced me yet and Andrew will of course be broken.

Would prefer Remy or Austin. But he's certainly not dogshit. Probably a better option off the bench than Carlton.

Does this indicate that Remy aint going anywhere and Austin is deemed too expensive?
Borini is decent. Good technical player. I wouldn't be upset with this.

Well said Ronny. His goal scoring record is comparable to AC over the past few years. You don't play for Roma or Italy if you are a mug.

He's 24 and played for some big clubs Chelsea Liverpool and Roma, and the national side. Loved by Sunderland fans and scored a beauty in the cup final.
Not sure how he's dog shit exactly. That must make 95% of world football below him worse.

£8 million is about right for him. 9.25 is probably a bit too much. £8 million isn't really that much these days when at look at what players go for between English clubs.
Given a run, he could score a few goals. Sunderland were dogshit, remember and he was never going to get into Liverpool's side when he was there unless Suarez or Sturridge were out for any reason.
